Just completed a class for my Concealed Handgun License here in Ohio, have scheduled an appointment to submit the application. Anyway the instructor was confident Ohio will adopt Constitutional Carry within the next year.

Knowing that, having a CHL will still be valuable for the training and the ability for dealers to bypass the NICS background checks.

Keep making good choices... Knowledge is power, especially when applied with skill and judgement.

Now move on to some of the tactical classes, learn the draw cycle and consider IDPA or USPSA for some fun.

You'll still have to do a NICS check for a handgun.

I had two CHL holders walk out with guns, both taken care of while I was being researched. I think one was a rifle and the other was a handgun, could be mistaken.
Also the cheapest dealer a lot of times here is Rural King, they told me since they're Illinois-based they follow Illinois law and will still run checks for everything.
