I see Trijicon still makes the Bright & Tough night sights to fit the 3rd-gens with adjustable rear sights. I have a couple simple, and somewhat ignorant, questions regarding the replacement procedure:

First, is the Windeage Nut staked in place like on the revolvers? With the rear sight base I wouldn't think that wouldn't be necessary as the nut couldn't back out with the guard in the way, but what do I know.

Second, I've heard that the front sight dovetail is wider on one end, so it must be removed and installed from the same side. Is this the case, and which direction must it be removed and installed from?

I apologize if these are dumb questions. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

Sights should be removed from a dovetail right to left & replaced left to right.
