Been invited to do a night hunt next month....

Embarrassed to say that I've never done this and not paid any attention to how it's done. So what should I do to gear up and prepare?

If you're using a pit blind, be sure to wear rubber boots and your oil skins. Most holes in the gound here in Maine are filled with water this time of year..... Just think January Duck Hunting and dress accordingly.

I would suggest that there be at least one shotgun in the pit with you.... sometimes they can come in pretty close from downwind....

Night hunting is illegal in Arizona
But, I have heard that #4s in a 12 Ga. do OK if the truck's speed isn't much over 30MPH
Ventilating the hood is a no-no and a bit worse than the tail gate
Not that I know
But Jim still brings that up after all these years

Giz, given the fact the you have been invited tells me that the other guys will likely have what you will need. A good light with a red filter comes to mind. As Drew said just dress warm enough and try to be as scent free as possible. Play the wind.

Hey, you already know all this stuff. Just have fun! ;)
