Congratulations! I've had a 6" for a long time. I replaced the factory grips with Hogue mono grips. I like them so well on that gun that I tried them on other guns but was disappointed in all except the 586. It's easily the most accurate handgun I've had.

DID you use handloads? I prefer 158 SWC and have Bullseye, TiteGroup, Universal, 231 and Power Pistol
Yes. I think I only put one box of Federal 158 gr JSP through it.

Best cast bullet is RCBS 150 grain SWC. 13.5 gr 2400, WWSPP (not magnum). Shoots better than 357429 in my gun. Not a full power load but very accurate even at 100+ yards. I have had people ask to buy my gun after shooting it at 100 yards. All the cast bullets I've used were cast by me. I doubt it will perform as well with commercial cast bullets but I've been wrong before.

Best jacketed bullet is 125 gr Sierra JHP. 9.0 Unique, WWSPP (not magnum) This load is over max in the manuals. But not in my gun. Loud but hardly any recoil and very accurate at ranges under 50 yards (never shot it at longer ranges). I've also used the 140 grain Sierra JHP with a little less powder but I can't remember the charge.

I don't have much variety in loads because I found good loads so quickly I never looked any further.
