Has anyone tried out the new SIG P-238 yet? I like the looks of it, and as long as its not made of frigging plastic, I may get one...and will recommend one to my friend who bought an S&W .380 Sigma and had it BLOW UP in his hand (see S&W auto thread). I just do not understand the attraction of plastic guns (and plastic rifle stocks for that matter), but I am old and set in my ways! :D

To me the attraction to plastic guns is simple.

Their grips FIT ME. There isn't a single metal-framed pistol out there that fits my hand like a S&W M&P. Not even close.

And that to me is more important than looks, tradition, etc...

I fondled three of them yesterday in one of the local shops. An fellow former Chief who wosks at the shop was carrying one and let me mess around with it as well as two fancy new versions that the shop had just gotten in. It is a small 1911 with all the same controls. Good fit and finish from what I could see. Trigger is pretty good and it has excellent, three dot sights. I am considering one myself.
