Congrats ! I love mine and it's my main carry gun. I haven't had a malfunction at all while shooting this gun, so far it's utterly reliable. Have fun, and carry it often !

I have the Shield Plus Performance Center 4" Ported model and it has been failure free through its first 250 rounds. The only issue I had at first, that other owners have also remarked on, is that if the slide is forward (in battery) it is very difficult to get a fully loaded 13 round magazine to lock into the pistol. I kept my magazine fully loaded for a week or so and the spring has "broken in" enough that it will lock into the slide-forward pistol with a firm push instead of a hard smack.
I am of the opinion that S&W made the 13 round mags as short as possible and the very strong spring pressure pushing the cartridges up against the bottom of the slide is what makes it almost impossible to lock the mag in place.
Try pressing down on the cartridges in a fully loaded mag and you'll see what I mean.

I have a new Performance Center and I did have a problem initially with getting all the rounds in the mag. Read a review by Massad Ayoob shooting this pistol-loved it but he couldn't get all of the rounds in one of the mags and gave up..

I bought an extra 13 round mag when I purchased the pistol and it was HELL to get all of the rounds in one of the mags-I mean super human effort! Loaded up ALL three of the mags as soon as I got my hands on them and after about two weeks I could load and insert the mags without a great deal of effort. One of the 13 round mags still takes a little bit of a thump to seat but no big deal.

One of the 13 round mags was tougher than the other and I inserted that one in the pistol because that provides even a bit more downward force on the top round in the mag as it receives downward pressure from the slide when the slide is forward. After a couple of weeks all was good.

My Uplula gets them all in, but tales a lot of force mashing down the 12th round.

I just saw the future MagGuts +2 kit on their website. The mag base is about twice the depth as the original. I think I’ll pass on that.

I used the MagGuts kit on my original Performance Center Shield and it was a good idea. Think I'll pass on this one.

Yes, the 1.0 Shield with MagGuts is a winner.
