I have a good collection but no S&W's, so now I have 2 new ones. One is the regular standard 627 with 8 shots, and the other is a 686P (7 shots) with 5" bbl and unfluted cylinder. They both have the lock, but I'm not going to fool with it at all, and not use it either. Did I do good or not?

Couldn't be happier so far, but they are brand new and haven't been fired. I was wondering if anyone else had these guns and how they like them.

Short answer: Yes!

Longer answer: The 686 is a fine .357 Magnum, and the eight shot N frames have become another favorite of mine. Congrats!
