For a variety of reasons, I

am not much of an active buyer anymore, but sometimes I run across one I just can't let go. In this case a really nice Savage model 1914 .22 pump with octagon barrel. Stock may have been refinished, but metal appears to be all original with a bright bore. Action is slick and solid. In spite of the almost needle thin front sight plus my eyes, the little rifle really wants to shoot. Punched a one test group at 25 yards that I could cover with a nickel, then got in too much of a hurry and spread the next one out horizontally.
Think I need to try and replace the front sight. I have found some old Marble sights (#34 and 41), but I think they may be too big since they are listed to fit a 3/8ths dovetail. The sight on my Savage appears to measure .332 or so.

Very nice. I'm a sucker for octagon barrels.
