I traded off a couple of guns over the weekend, and picked up another muzzleloader. I needed to upgrade from a .45 caliber, and upgrade I did. I picked up this .58 caliber Navy Arms Buffalo Hunter, now just waiting for the minie balls and musket caps to come in.

Very nice looking gun! I like the blond wood and the overall design. Should be a breeze to clean that one. Have fun, it's always a good day when you figure out a load to go with your new gun...

Let us know how she shoots... ;)

I used one as my blackpowder hunting rifle in N.H.. Of course, I was stronger and younger (and not very bright), and didn't mind lugging it around for hours. It was a bit heavy, with stout recoil, but finally shot pretty well with oversize Minie Balls.
