Welcome to the forum from NW Pennsylvania! Would love to see a pic of that 1917 if possible. Hopefully you'll be out enjoying that at the range.

Welcome from a relative newbie myself. I lived and worked for many years in Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, and occasionally my work brought me down to your beautiful country. Whereabouts do you live in SA?

Welcome to the forum.

(corrected) Looks like it's pristine including the lanyard loop. Serial number will help identify it's era.

We're able enablers here, so get ready for the ride!

Welcome to the forum.

If the serial number starts with a "V" it's a "Victory" model. Looks like it's pristine including the lanyard loop. Serial number will help identify it's era.

Victory Models were .38's not .45.

Welcome to the forum from NE Georgia. I have a Colt M1917 and think you will like shooting 45 ACP from the old revolver. The picture looks great. Do you know any history around it as we love hearing about old guns.
