Could you put the nut in a vise and with a very small fat point punch. Remove the broken stud by tapping it clockwise? It's under no pressure now and should screw right out.
The stud tip is rounded and very small. Couldn't get a punch to bite. Figured it was a lost cause anyway, tried to cut a slot with a dremel for a jewelr's screwdriver but the slot was not centered enough and the cutting disc to wide. Pretty much trashed the nut.
I guess I'm committed now.
I called S&W and a nice fellow said he would check with someone in the fitting shop to see if current M41 parts would work. I should know tomorrow.
There were some of these on ebay a month ago...my timing is bad.
