Hi,
I have a model 63 .22, (I think), but can not find the markings "mdl 63" anywhere on the revolver.
I can find the serial number 3352x on the cylinder swing out, and repeated on the side of the frame when the grip is removed, and I can find the stampings BAN3618 at the bottom of the handle frame.
My other Smiths have the model number easily stamped on the cylinder swing out.

This is a stainless, 4" barrel with rubber grips.

this is the sweetest shooting pistol I have.... even better than my 617-6.... 586, and my 2206.
Just wondering why I cant find the model number stamped on the frame.

The BAN number is the serial number. The Model Number should be stamped on the crane and visible when you swing out the cylinder.

OK, any help dating the mfg of the gun from the serial number?
I found a web site, but they said I needed a Smith catalog (and the gun's serial number)
