I recently came into what I believe to be a N model 357 Magnum with what appears to be stamped MOD. 39-3. The serial number is stamped 3K98xx. There is a N stamped on the back of the cylinder. The 3 in the model number is partially missing the leading edge, so I'm guessing it to be a 3.

Can someone lead me in the direction to identify this revolver? I have searched the forum for a MOD. 39-3 and have gotten no results. I am a new member and at 76 don't plan on selling or using it. The finish is chrome.

Thank you for any help,

Welcome to the forum.. I agree with the others. The N on the cylinder face denotes a nickel finish, and it sounds like probably a model 19

After looking closer, I can see the number I thought to be a 3 is a 1, as in 19-3.

Thanks all for your help,

Welcome to the forum! Nice model 19. They are going for premium price these days. Thanks for sharing the pic.
