Finally able to get past the shoulder injury. Been a long while. George worked up some 300 grain loads I can handle really well. I'll step it up as I get better, but for now...It's nice to handle a real centerfire in smokeless again...

Marlin in 45/70 Octogon... :)

Anything (or anyone) made in the early 1900's and still shoots deserves just a little more respect.....

If a "Winny" is the sound a Horse makes, what's a "Bray"? A Bayard?

A "Hee-Haw" a Hawes?

A "Tee-Hee" a Thompson Contender?

Sorry, I'm doing Patent Drawings tonight..... I'm bored and my mind has turned to mush.....

I'm right here! Geez, a guy takes a night off from the forum and the talk degrades to farm animals. ;) That is a sweet looking .45-70 Giz.

You know Drew has one to pick up very soon too. We should get together and have a .45-70 shoot. kfjdrfirii I know Revorg has has one too that he doesn't shoot very often. Maybe this thread will help him see the light.

Giz, If that shoulder starts acting up again, try some ALEVE. Two tablets before I started cleaning the yard, yesterday, and I still feel OK.
(I've got a torn left rotator cuff......remember???? ) For the past 8 years, I have gotten Cortisone shots, but they do little. I live with the pain every fall, when I start throwin' those bags of leaves and grass into the pick-up.

Those little blue pills work wonders.....so far. Bob
