I have a Model 52-2 that will not stay cocked. First few shots it worked a few times and then wouldn't stay cocked at all. I replaced the sear spring and that didn't help. I believe that maybe someone messed with the sear and trigger engagements. I have a new sear on its way to me. I also need help readjusting the small screw that controls how far the trigger returns to firing position. Any other ideas on what to try would be appreciated. Thanks

The screw may the the problem. If it prevents the trigger from resetting, that may affect the sear engagement. Does it have a trigger stop screw in the trigger face, or behind the trigger in the frame? If so, that screw maybe preventing the trigger from moving back far enough to fully engage the sear. This is all a wild ass guess. Not sure if that helps.

It’s in the frame. I checked that before I messed with trigger return screw in the frame up top and it wasn't interfering on the trigger stop screw. Thanks

New sear and backed off trigger over travel screw 1/3 turn and everything is working perfect.

Great news! Now go find some targets a wear out the X's. I have two of them and they are wonderful shooters.
