New to this forum, trying to find out some info on a model-41 I just picked up. I knew it was unique because of the U.S. stamp on the frame. Just wanting to get a better idea of it’s value and rarity? What year it was produced? Thanks in advance for any info on this one.

Military issued 41s are worth 4 times a normal one..(so the Bible says) so there are "counterfeit" ones floating around. A S&W historical letter on the pistol is about the only way to determine true authenticity.

Thanks msharley. I've been waiting on this letter since just after I posted the pictures. I was happy to read that letter! Now trying to decide if it's going to stay here, or find a new home.
