local gun shop has a nickel 40-1 box in perfect shape

asking $850 which seems high

what is good price?

generally - id call it high.. for an early mint pre-40 or pre-bangor 40 no dash thats a close to retail price..

for a 40-1 which is a post 2007 gun, dont see a big premium on that ?

whats your interest - collector, carry/shoot, what?

it is a nice model - j magnum frame, bit of old school style, part of the 'classic' series. they made them 2007-2012 so there are only so many out there. There is a case-colored version of it i always admired. make 'em an offer at your price - i dont belive they are gonna get folks bustin down the door for it at that price.
