My brother was at Davis Sporting goods in Sloatsburgh buying his Springfield 1911 9mm....they have about 6 model 36s for under 250 bucks and he said they were really nice...most likely NYPD turn ins...also a 4" 19 for 3something and a 2nd gen DS for 300, all in nice shape...anyone in the area should check them out...I don't think they do mail order but you can ask...

Davis is usually a little on the high side for their goods. Having said that, those Smith's are priced reasonably. I'd be interested in the DS for 3 bills.

From what they told my brother, revolvers aren't moving so they should still be around a while..my brother bought a real nice 4" 686 for 4 and 1/2 bills....
