Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! There's a gap in our tables from SN 295000 in 1962 to 786544 in 1969. So, short of an historian's letter, there's no way to pinpoint a date. I'll see if I can find some ship dates for nearby serial numbers to try and narrow it down for you.

That one was pretty much hot off the press when you got it. The book says 1969 was 786544 so late '68 maybe.
My 6287xx is '68 as best I figured. I think the diamond around the grip screw was stopped in '68 and mine don't have the diamond..

Model 36 serial 664879 was shipped in June 1968. Model 36 serial 673307 was shipped from the factory in August 1968. Model 36 716738 was shipped in February 1969. I would say August or September 1968.
Thanks for taking the time Guy. Indicates that the gun was either new or very new when I purchased it. No box though. Bought it with a Bianchi #9-R underarm holster, not made anymore. Convenient carry rig.

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! Probably 1969. Value depends on condition, condition, condition and is hard to estimate without seeing the gun. So, post some pictures of the gun and folks can chime in.
