The longer I have this model 3 the more questions I have. After reading the S&W catalog I learned that if my gun was a Russian it would be stamped as such but my isn’t stamped. Serial # is 31375 which would make it second model #3. So do I have a 44 American? I took some pictures of the cylinder. It looks like there’s an ever so slight step but I could be wrong. Can anyone with more expertise help me out please? Or possibly provide some pics of your model 3 second model American? I’m really loving this old gun! It points beautifully and those tiny little rear sights just snap into place naturally. I asked cimarron firearms and they are producing a model 3 American in 44 special I can’t wait to get my hands on. Do I go with 8” barrel or 5”? I’m leaning towards 5” to match this guy.

Oh and on a related note I’m looking for some parts or someone who can fix it up, I know it will probably never fire but I’d like to fix the cylinder stop and ejector. Thanks!
