I just bought a used 44mag model 29 which looks to be in good condition. But it will not fire a full cylinder of rounds. those that don't fire show just a slight dent in the primer. However, I don't think it's the ammo since the mis-fired rounds do fire in another model 29. What can be the cause of the problem?

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! The action may need to be cleaned. If you know how to check for end shake do that. Check the hammer nose bushing to make sure it's not got soot in it. If all of that is negative, report back and let's see if we can come up with some other ideas.

Also hold the gun sideways in front of your face and rotate the cylinder looking to see if it's eccentric. This might be the issue if it consistently has a light strike on the same cylinder chamber.
