Good afternoon. Any chance this is an original 28-2 stainless? SW dates it to 1978-1980. Someone dovetailed the front sight and added a night sight. I am a SW admirer but not a serious collector. I am just looking for some informed facts and info. Thanks.....Robby

The 28 was never made in stainless. (if it had been it would be a 628). That is likely a refinish in industrial chrome or something like that. The barrel doesn't look quite right for a 28 either
Could it just be that the finish was removed? I can see some "brush marks like it was hit with scotch bright or ??

Just curious. When I removed park from a gun I was going to blue it was greyish but I could have gotten it to a reasonable shine with some work.
