I just bought the 9mm shield ez for CCW but am concerned about leaving it in battery loaded all the time. Will this damage the mainspring? It appears to be nearly impossible to replace the spring should it become necessary.

The owner's manuals for my S&W guns specify to not store the guns with the hammer cocked. They do not say how long "store" is in terms of days, weeks or months.

No it won't damage the spring.

Mine stays chambered (at least it has for basically the past 3 years) and reliably goes bang every time at the range.


Edit: Mine is the Shield9, not the EZ model ... but the advice still holds.
