I paid $500 for a no-frills 15-22 back in 2009 when first introduced. S&W didn't offer a threaded barrel at the time so I had to pay to get that done. Over the years prices eventually went down to $300 and back up to $500 during times of panic buying, including now. After 40,000 rounds the price of my rifle is insignificant.
They were running at about $350 for the basic version in my area, and $80-90 more for the Magpul version before March of this year. In the current market I think you did pretty well. I got mine back in 2012 for $409.95 which was a decent price back then, plus the shop was including an extra magazine for free. Mine is not a Magpul edition
