Picked this up yesterday. This is the 5" version, they make a 6"(illegal for carry). I couldn't believe how small the clip is. The way it is shaped it rides very well, no sharp edges on the handle. I don't know why I waited so long to buy one.

Ok, now I'm expecting the "that's what she said" jokes.

Blade is tall , even for the kill floor

Make and model?

The Cold Steel Voyager with 5" clip point. They also make it with a tanto point and serrated and half serrated. Check out the Vaquero model.

They use the same size clip on all the Voyager series. That one shown is the Extra Large. I have the large and medium Voyager's. I carry the medium as my EDC knife along with a VSAK Huntsman. Is yours a Japan or China/Tiawan blade? For a production knife they hold an edge, and when dull sharpen up fast. Alot of folks talk down the Cold Steel knives, an they may have a point, but I've found out after carrying them for several years that they work, and work when you need them, and are hard as he!! to damage! I used an SRK over in Iraq for two years, an really abused it. Never could damage it, and it looks like its been used for about ten years. For a fixed blade knife its the one I grab everytime.

Leighton, it is a Japan made model. I remember when Cold Steel dealers had the videos of what they were capable of. They took the tanto fixed blade and put it in a vice some guy leaned on it and it bent back into shape by itself, he couldn't break it. The shovel they made went through a cinder block(both sides) and then he turned around and threw it like a hatchet at a target, and it stuck. They also had a thick rope just hanging and they had a number of folders and fixed blades that cut through them without any pressure. When my brother went in to the Marines, I bought him the tanto fixed blade 6" and he said out in the field he cut through a huge log to make firewood no one elses knife could. He still has it being out 8 yrs now. Not sure about the current production but the oldies do work. Nice knives, the SRK is a perfect for everything knife. I'm trying to find the San Mai R1, my friend has one and he wants $300 for it. James
