I can buy a Ruger Redhawk .44 mag stainless, with scope mounts, 7.5" barrel, shipped around 1982, with the box and paperwork.

I've looked at a few places on the net for pricing, but can't get a good feel for the going price. He's asking $1200. Excellent condition. I'm seeing prices closer to $900 - $1000.

That seems high to me. Seen several over the past year listed on local sales forums in the $800-900 range and sometimes with a scope.

So make him an offer you're comfortable with; you can always go up a little if need be.

I think it's over priced. Check out the ruger forum for people with some experience dealing on these:


I recently discovered Cimarron single action action pistols. They are superb reproductions of Colt and other historic models, and well worth looking into. I bought a model P Colt reproduction in 2020:


Most are Italian manufactured by Uberti to their specifications, which are extremely high.
