this week a local shop has been taking in a collection a few guns at a time. I bought one and put 2 on Layaway. here are some pictures of the 1st one

4 screw non model marked Pre 29 in original box $799

I have to wait to pick up the other 2 as Tucson has a stupid 10 day rule for Serial # checks on the shops that buy used guns.

a 1960 vintage minty Model 36 flatlatch and a mint early model 43 paid for with the proceeds of selling the Pre 29

Interesting stocks! They appear to be very well executed. Are they marked inside?

Not seeing any N-Frames for sale lately, especially nice earlier ones. And certainly, none like yours. I did the usual tour of shops this week and came up empty handed. Well, except for the Winchester Model 90 in mint condition... ;)

The Pre. Mod. 29 is very impressive with case as it looks to be mint, but the grips, man they really are impressive. I like their unique look. Doesn't hurt that they may be a "One of a Kind" either, congratulations on your good fortune and thanks for sharing. May we expect more photos of the other new comers?

Me too! That dealer must be a real shmuck to retail that gun for $799. The "guy in Alabama" will not be so benevolent when it re-appears,of that you may be sure. That one would have never left my covetous little paws. nhvaoavo

LOL I figured I would get some flack for letting it go. I took the shooter grade 4" pre 29 I found awhile back to the range and really disliked the feel and the recoil. Like I said previously I'm just not a 44 Mag guy. I saw this one as a way to get a couple more that I do like at no cost. It was the nicest 44 Mag I had ever held though and the thought of keeping did pass through my mind for a few minutes. I rated the gun at 98%+ conservatively.
The prices on the 36 and 43 were combined less than this one was and will Bring additional funding when I decide to move them.
I just recieved an EMail from DC and he said he would take all the guns I could find like this one. maybe I was a little to cheap :)
