Not the best pic but it's the only one I have. 640 .38, 640-1 357 both specially marked low serial # box. Then there's a 640 carry comp performance center Lew Horton gun with serial #0000. The 042 is a pre production sample also with 0000 serial #. The 3" 686CS-1 is a salesmans sample that is absolutely unfired, even from the factory.
It's not a 640, near cousin though 342. I was surprised to see how the new alloy models with Magnum frames are different from 640's This one would probably not interchange a single part except the grips. Even has a different holster fit than a 640, found that one out the hard way. The Centennial frame is probably the ultimate pocket revolver. Have and do own other J's none carry better than Centennials. One question for the experts, think these grips are factory ? I have never seen another set up this way.
