I saw a K-22 Masterpiece today with a 6" barrel and diamond magnas. It was pinned and recessed and had a turn ring and some muzzle blueing wear. Otherwise, the blue was perfect everywhere else, the grips were perfect, the bore was perfect, the sights were perfect, and the action was perfect. No box or papers. Serial number is K215XXX.

Asking price was $549. I almost bought it because I don't have a double action .22 and a new S&W costs more than that new!

Should I have bought it? I looked on GunBroker and all of the K-22 Masterpiece revolvers are either selling or asking more than that. Some that appear similar with serial numbers in the K2XXXXX range are asking $895 or more.

If it is still available I would go buy it. Even without box or papers it's a good deal. I bought one similar to the one you describe a little over a year ago and paid $500.00 for it. Not too much, just too soon. I am glad I did because the price has only gone up.

All I'm going to say is that EVERYONE belonging to a Smith & Wesson forum should own at least one K22.

You will not be sorry. The shoot like a dream and are a hoot. Go back and get it.

if it was all that "perect" I think I would have had to buy it...we saw one this past Saturday and it was all banged up, lots of wear and chips in the grips and they would not budge off of $600......
