I'd like to have the mods make this a sticky so it can be accessed anytime and not get lost with other threads and this may not be the correct forum but, here goes...

Reading along on various threads one thing seems to be commonplace for a great number of us and that is Camp Perry.

I go to the Nationals every year and have for quite a while now and I bet I've rubbed elbows with many of you there and not even known it. Bought ammo, guns and other neat stuff and possible conversed with some of you and again, not know it.

What I'd like to propose is some sort of get together at Camp Perry during the week of the Nationals. Camp Perry has, across from the range, adjacent to parking, a very large and well equipped pavillion and picnic area that would be ideal for a get together so we could all put faces with screen names.

I think it would further reinforce the 'family atmosphere' this forum has ongoing.

Just an idea.

Nice thing about Camp Perry is the close location to the Toledo East suburbs and hotels, motels and plenty of places to eat plus Cedar Point amusement park is the next exit east so it can be a family thing as well. Don't know if they have camping on the grounds for non participants but there are plenty of campgrounds close by so it makes for a nice week or mid week get away. I always buy something in 'Vendor's Row'. Lots of reloading supplies and firearms available and most of the big names in aftermarket stuff are there.

Not a 'Shot Show' by any means but being a National Match it's very interesting and there is a huge amount of real time experience there and most all the participants like to talk about their particular discipline.

I wonder how many posters on here I've rubbed elbows with and not even knew I was....

I've attended the games, and enjoyed a number of stays in Port Clinton.

The games start with the pistol competitions, and (if storms on the lake and lightening don't cancel events) it is quite a bit of fun.

The last games I attended, I got to see what military gunsmiths do to make really accurate Beretta 92f handguns. Very interesting.

Many manufacturers have quite a presence at the games in a commercial sales area on Camp Perry, and the CMP has their Northern warehouse and offices / sales floor there.
