A couple of suggestions to help us narrow it down. Open the cylinder and tell us what is stamped in the crane area. Also, post the serial number (you can X out the last couple of digits) so we can look it up.

Thanks for the help guys.
The serial # is 1490xx.
All of the #'s match including the grips.

Assuming there is an S prefix to the number, it would 1956. That makes it a 38-44 Heavy Duty. They were stamped "Model 20" starting in 1957.

That is a very nice revolver you have there.

No, no, no. Geoff did the heavy lifting. I was pretty sure it was a Heavy Duty but not positive until Geoff confirmed it and I read the description in the book.

Enjoy that revolver.
