I bought this one new, and Roy says it was shipped to me June, 1973. All matching.

Here is a recently picture as a loaded revolver. It's been loaded since new. They all have a history:

Last week I just finished a collection goal of obtaining every Model 10 from the Model 10 to the Model 10-10. The -5 is my only duplicate; I have one in blue (5" barrel) and one in Nickel (4" barrel). I am waiting for the 10-9 to arrive so I can get a family photo of them.

That is a real nice gun. I have a couple pre 10s but the actual 10 has eluded me. They are very accurate and easy to shoot.

The Smith Wesson Model 10 and its M&p Revolver counter part has been and is the work horse of the Revolvers. Only third in total production world wide behind the Browning high Power, and Colt 1911 the Smith Wesson model 10 had graced the holsters of more police officers from 1930s to the 1980s than any other gun. It has been used by the military in 29 countries and used by security forces around the world. Its like of the time-ex watch of the Revolvers. i have three in my collection , a M&P from 1949 and 10-1 heavy barrel and a 10-5 light barrel . They are still me al time favorite revolvers to shoot and to teach people how to shoot.

How could Smith's most popular gun be underrated? I have M&P's going from 1900 shipped Mod 1899 to a 10-5. What's not to love?
Here's a taste of M&P goodness:

K Frame; Wood stocks; composite stocks; Blued; Nickle Plated; Original barrel profile; heavy barrel profile... A dozen engineering revisions to improve it...

What's not to like?

One of the most prolific revolvers ever designed and shipped. It can never be underrated.
