Y'all are getting bent out of shape and blaming this forum. I can tell you this much, if someone deleted the entire day's jokes it would be visible to me. And I don't see any links to anything being deleted. Same goes for individual posts. They always leave something that I can see and if I choose, look at.

I don't know what happened to yesterday's jokes but I will say again, if the entire thing was deleted I would be able to see it. Even individual posts that get deleted are still there for me and there's nothing there.

While we're talking about deleting posts, I will say again please don't post political jokes here. We have a political forum for them. And those do sometimes get deleted, usually by me.

The Tuesday jokes were on the forum at around 1:30 in the afternoon. Around 3:-3:30 I tried to get on and got a message that the site was down for maintenance. A few hours later, site was up but tuesday joke page was gone. I figured something happened to it during the shutdown

That's what I'm thinking too. The reason I said anything is because of the members saying they were being censored. That is not the case. We do censor if the language is overboard but that hasn't been the case with the jokes. In fact, this is one place I go to every day. I enjoy them too.

Carl is correct. Even if a thread or post is deleted the staff is able to see those and there have not been reported post. I don't get offended by the beer and boobs and other types of post, they can be quite funny and nothing any more or better put less than what you see everyday on TV or in person.

Had a friend that had a '63 225. Had a bench seat with a 3 speed on the floor (FACTORY), don't remember the engine... Wasn't much off the line, but once you got rolling that lead sled would haul the mail...

This?

This "Business Man's Coupe"?

401cid. Buick. 10.25:1 compression? Some way "TALL" Highway Gear....

What great automobiles!

At that time, REGULAR GAS was a REAL 91 Octane. Sunoco 260 was 107 REAL Octane.

Look at the pump, next time you gas up. R+M/2. What does that mean?

Well, "research" (Gov't) comes up with 75 REAL Octane. The Manufacturer (Big Oil Co's LIE/STEAL/CHEAT DEPT.) claims it to be 105 FAKE Octane.

So: 105 +75/2 =90 Octane. Big Oil "slaps" the "HI TEST" sticker on it, and charges the RUBES (us) $3.55/gal!

Point of this ramble?

Can not even purchase the gasoline to run such an AUTOMOBILE, today. :(

Any way, I'm thinking (headed into the "way back")....that engine was referred to as the "Wild Cat"? And by BUICK LOVERS as the "Nail Head"?

Input from someone with a better "way back".....is welcome! :ROFLMAO:

Later, Mark

I saw an Electra 225 T-bone a Corvette in about 1978. Only 25 mph or less but I'll give you three guesses who won that one. BTW it was the Vette driver's fault.

Yeah, that's the engine. I remembered it was called a nailhead, but I forgot the displacement. 325 HP in 4400 pound car. 100 on the freeway felt like 45. We didn't have Sunoco... we had to survive on Super Shell at 104 octane. I ran Dodges then and that's all they would run on.

Hey S Man,

They wrote 325 HP on it...

Most likely (on today's dyno) it would be nearer 375HP w/390 ft/lbs torque... ??

Fellow on my paper route had a '61 Chrysler 300. 413cid "Cross Ram" intake.

Speedo in car went to 160mph. So did the car! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Cars were so much KOOLER then!!
