I just got a brand new Performance Center 586 L-Comp and I can't even see the tritium sight in a dark room. I don't know if it's defective or if my eyesight is too far gone, but since I want to do Steel Challenge with this gun, I think a fiber optic would be better suited for that purpose anyway. However, that leads me to two questions:

1. One of HIVIZ's "pinned" style sights says it's for K and L frame guns, but not for Classic or Performance Center guns and another "pinned" sight doesn't mention Classic or Performance Center, so a) can I assume that the latter will work, and b) how is a pinned sight in a PC gun different than a run-of-the-mill S&W?

2. With the port directly in front of the sight, is there much risk of melting the fiber optic insert enough for it to come loose?
