From Bill Cross, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the S&W Historical Foundation:

Effective February 15, 2017, members of the S&W Collectors Association or the S&W Historical Foundation will receive a discount of $10 on each historical letter requested. The new request forms (under revision to be mailed on Feb. 15, 2017 in the S&WCA Journal) will have a place to insert your member number. Complete the form and include a check for $65 for your letter. This action is in recognition of the support members of these organizations provide to the Historical Foundation.

Price Increase is Coming

I noticed this posted elsewhere:

Effective October 1, 2019 (Tuesday of next week), the cost of a letter of authenticity will increase to $100. Members of the S&WCA or S&WHF will pay $90; if you are a member of both organizations, the cost is $75. Requests received that are postmarked on or after October 1, 2019 will be subject to the new prices.

The new prices will apply even if the application form on our various websites has not be updated to show them.

I had no idea that the cost of a letter is now $100 and $90 for members. [I quoted a new enthusiast the former $60 cost]

I've heard of inflation, but this is very unfair to new members.

All letters have the same history, and the last paragraph mentions the shipment date and where it was delivered.

How come the inflation when there has been no inflation? Is the government behind this. :)

I have no clue, but I doubt the government is involved.

I say the letter fee has drastically increased as well as the price of ammo. I do think the price of ammo is directly related to the "Defund the Police", and many other liberal anti-gun folks.

My first letter was in 2007 when I found my pre-27 3 1/2" was shipped 7-6-1951. It was shipped to NYC (go figure).
