Very very accurate and nice gun worth some serious bucks also.
As much as I like Rugers for plinking, I believe that I like Hi-Standard HDs better. You can still find 'em at bargain prices if you look carefully. Here's ours in its Brauer Bros. holster. My dad got it in the late 1940s.

Cool. I have a Brauer Brothers for this one. I'll locate it once the painting/hardwood floor project is complete. Right now it is difficult to find anything in this house!
Mine is at the 'Smiths. It is well worn but still shoots like a dream. One of the grip screw holes in the grip frame got stripped, the sccrew backed out and got lost. So the stock was moving upward in to the slide action and preventing it from cycling. I should have it back in a week. I too, prefer mine over a Ruger any day. My brother owns a short barreled HD, that has so many rounds fired through it someone before my brother actually drilled and then sleeved the factory barrel on it. Even though its had that sort of repair done, it still shoots dead on, amazing accuracy. His has the Roper stocks on it.
Black Agnes, that's a real beaut!

I saw a HD Military chambered in .380 acp up for bid in one of the big auction catalogs about a year ago. I don't know whether it was experimental or a special rare chambering.
