I got this revolver from my Grandfather who passed away. I am having a hard time getting information on it. Any information would be appreciated. Type, age, value would all be helpful.

Looks like a .38 Single Action 2nd Model to me. These guns were made from 1877-1891. Your serial number falls in the middle of the range. Standard Catalog lists the gun at $525- $600 judging by your photos but then adds a 50% premium for the mottled hard rubber grips. It looks like your gun has been very well taken care of. I hope it's priceless to you.

Thank you for the information. It is priceless to me. He also left me a Walther P38. Has the Nazi markings on it and also a leather holster for it with the same markings. Very interesting piece of history that I am glad I have. Again, thank you I appreciate your help with this.

Your thread title references inheriting "a couple of handguns".
So I'm just dying of suspense, what/where is the second one?
Inquiring minds want to know!
