Hello everyone,I found a nickel 38 spl it doesnt have the model on the frame like my 65 does,can someone look up the model and date of the gun,the number under the barrel is 19898,and the number on the cylinder and butt is 318900,thanks ahead of time

I think you have a M&P but not sure which change. There are other people here more knowledgable. You might try to post a pic in the pre-war section.

Hi 10k shooter,
A warm welcome to the forum.

The official Serial number is on the butt and thus you should have a Military & Police model of 1905 4 th change made between 1915 and 1942 Serial # 241704 - 1000000 but I would guess that the date would be in the early post WW1 time frame. It would appear that the barrel has been changed. Is there a locking lug on this barrel???
