Welcome to the forum! Any pics? Would love to see the revolver you describe. Sorry to hear of your dad passing, to me the revolver would be a keepsake to enjoy and pass on.

I'm new to this forum so please bear with this old man.I have a S&W .38 that needs a new hammer. The serial number is 423321 which makes it a 1905 Military & Police made between 1905 and 1942 ( I think that is correct ). It was an heirloom from a friend so I did not receive much info about the pistol. Before it was given to me the hammer was broken and had so many sharp places it was impossible to pull the hammer back. Someone ground the end of the hammer a little smoother but it still is a chore to pull the hammer back.I would like to replace the hammer if possible.Any help with model numbers and part numbers for a new hammer would be greatly appreciated.
