Since nobody has asked previously, and I can't seem to get an answer from any of the bluing manufacturers, I thought I'd ask in a place where the esoteric seems ordinary...
If I were to mix some Iron Oxide Yellow(99%) in a solution of Perma Blue Liquid #3, would the mixture yield an applicable solution of green that would actually adhere to a barrel surface; or would the excess oxide precipitate out and simply leave me with an unusable, gritty mess? I know chemistry states that a solvent and a solute have saturation points; I just don't know how full that mixture is from the bottle, and would rather not spend $50 to find out I made a boo-boo...thanks!
