 A bit expensive. So it the 7.62.

Prices suck!
Greg,

Gone are the days my friend when you could by 55 Grain M193 for $5.00 a box....

$10.00 a box is high, but about on par or less than most Major Retailers these days.

At least this is a DELIVERED price... there is no additional freight charges... and this is 62 Grain, Premium Mil-Spec, M855 / SS109 Lake City ammo....

For those not familiar with the SS109 Specification, this ammo is designed to penetrate a 3.4 mm (.135" ) thick SAE 1010 or 1020 steel test plate at 600+ yards, about 200 yards beyond that of which the standard M193 ball round will.

Muzzle Velocity 3000 ± 40 f/s at 78 ft ASL.
Chamber Pressure (typical) 55,000 psi.
Accuracy ind targets horiz and vertsd = 7.8 in. at 600 yd. (10 rounds, nominal mean spread)

This ammo type is current issue and fairly technical as far a .223 ball rounds go.

If I didn't already have a couple of cases of 62 Grn Match and another three of M193 Ball, I'd be all over this SS109.

Re: Heads Up! .223 Available.

A while back, to take advantage of a multi case lot deal, two of my brothers went in together on a bunch of ammo. Just a thought for those that could do a deal like that.
