I would like to get some lube on the inner workings of my New Model 28. It has been sitting in a safe for a good many years and I think it can use it. I know the best thing to do would be to open her up but I dont think I am emotionally ready.

I hae some lucus Aerosol clp. Would I be safe in just shooting that into all the orifices I can find and then letting it drain out. My understanding is the lucus leaves a lubricant film but that can just be advertising.
Thank you for any help!

easy and fast: take grips off, get drip pan, spray innards liberally with Rem cleaner- spray into every orifice Keep spraying until output runs clear

Drip dry

Spray innards with Breakfree CLP into every orifice

Drip dry

works quite well and you don't have to mess with disassembly.

-Re Lucas- cleaners generally aren't lubricants. They're usually more one than the other. Rem Cleaner- is a straight cleaner, Breakfree is pretty much a lubricant.
