I had never been in the gambling part of the casino until about 5 years ago. Missus Fan begged me to take her. I finally gave in. She was playin' slots which looked SO boring. I wandered over to the blackjack table and won my first time. Big mistake. We got totally addicted.:( I'm pretty good at blackjack. Her, not so much. She wants to hit her 13 against a 6 and takes the bust card.
Recently we started playing roulette, or as she calls it roo-lay.:D That is SO fun. Now I'm addicted to that one.
Think I'm gonna be a Grillionaire.
I'll let ya know.

I’ve built them in Biloxi and Gulfport. They had to have a complete return on their investment in 9 months (how ironic) my belief is if you win? It’s only on loan, you WILL go back..... now if you can afford it, and it floats your boat? God bless.. if you are like my brother $16k a week, I pray for you....

I've been to the buffet and a few concerts at the casino owned by the Seneca Indians that's about 50 minutes north of me. I have gambled a bit but I am conservative with my money and set my reserve at $20- $25. Once that's gone I am done. Can usually hang in there for a few hours before my money is gone. I've only done it about 5 times in my whole life. Usually I am thinking about what I could use the money for that is a sure thing.....like ammo. If the odds were in a gamblers favor, Las Vegas would have been a ghost town a long time ago.

Used to love roulette at a few of the casino's around here and in northern Michigan until they went electronic and also changed the rules on placing bets. Used to win a lot until then. Took the fun out of it so I don't play anymore. But it's fun...just gotta leave when your ahead.:)

I find gamblin in a casino terribly boring. I've been to 3, all not by choice. Just happened to be with somebody else that was driving, and that's where we ended up.
All in all, after the 3 casino's, I've walked away with roughly $75.
Last time was roughly 1995.
I have a brother that'a a true addicted gambler. And my wife's step father was an addicted gambler as well.
I've seen them both go from rags to riches, and back to rags, more times than I can count on all of my fingers.

It is addicting, and the casino's are only there to make money. Bugsy Siegel found that out!

My youngest has a degree from UNLV in Resort Management and Business. He was taught the best game was 21. The worst odds were slots, roulette and Baccarat.

If you think there might be money in gambling, reconsider. All those mega casinos is Las Vegas were built from the folks who left more on the strip, than those who got to go home winners.

When I was young we'd go the Tahoe and Reno to gamble. Vegas a couple times. Always had a great time but only for a day and then leave the next.

When moving back here the wife and I have been to Tunica, MS and Cherokee, NC. Wouldn't bother going back.

I'm so certain at losing in a casino, if should ever go to one, I'd just hand the doorman my reserve, and leave. It'll do him more good than me handing over piece at a time to the casino owners.

When I play blackjack I always play the Plus Three side bet. It's your two cards against the dealer's up card. If it's three of a kind, a straight, straight flush or flush you get paid nine to one. One night I spent $140 on chips and walked out with $1,040. Several times I made several hundred.
The roulette wheel is, as somebody stated electronic. Makes it more fun. I've done really well several times and Missus Fan likes it too. She plays slots. I really think they're totally fixed, although she has won over $1,000 a couple times.
On nights when things are right it seems like you can't do anything wrong.
Other nights....not so much.
We're goin' back later today.
Gonna win a bundle and buy a Registered Magnum.

Never enjoyed playing games with my money, as I work much too hard to earn it. I do enjoy Blackjack and some other table games, but not enough to "pay" for the pleasure.

Casino philosophy can be summed up real easy. It's all about the way they do the math:

If you bet $3 and they give you back $2..you are a winner!

Eventually the winners run out of money...

i don't gamble, and never have.

If you can approach it as entertainment and keep a fixed limit to expenditures over time (say a total of 2% of your salary or income during a period) you can probably do it safely. If you make $4,000 a month, never gamble more than $80 in that month. When it runs out, stop. It doesn't matter how excited you are or how close you feel to "winning" again.

The odds are all set so that the house will win in the long run. You will never beat them.

it's exciting, but also addictive. I have a gambling addict in my family, and know others from where I work.

You're much better off putting the 2% monthly into investments. They are a gamble too to some extent, but the odds are not stacked like they are at Casinos.

I once owned an electronic slot machine for having fun at home. It came with the instructions on how to set the fixed amount it wins in the long run. The more sophisticated systems used today with integrated central computers make the adjustments based upon your identity when you log into the machines.

It's great to have fun, but I'm not sure it's a very safe activity. I've been playing online casinos for a few years now, and until I found a really licensed casino and a reliable payment method like immediate transfer, more about it here. I've lost so many times the money I won that you can't even imagine.
