I am always on the lookout for old literature and a few years ago I found this 1960 edition of Popular Handguns with a Ruger FT 44 on the cover. The FT 44 in the picture was shipped in 1959 and I think the two make a great "combo". The second photo is the same 44 with a set of factory stag grips.

Another great part of the hobby, Bill!
Your photo...the flattop and the magazine...really tell a story.
My only concern is that the stuff we remember as 'new' back then is now 'vintage'.
Time does indeed march on.

Bill, wonderful and fun...

Been trying like the dickens to button down my flattop collection. It gets harder as the years go by. I'm there on the .357's and have barely begun on the .44's. Went to good size show here in Maine today and did not find one Flattop. :(

So it's nice to get re-energized from time to time...looking at examples from your collection.

Thanks, Amigo

Patience. That's the word I think of when I see your posts, Doc. Must take a lot of it to find and research such fine examples of the gunmakers art. Single mindedness and determination also come to mind. As always, beautiful!
