I'm been doing some action work on two my late model N-frame guns with the newer frame mounted firing pins.

The DA is smooth as silk and new Wolff main springs got the pull at the poundage I desired, however ignition is still not 100%.

I vaguely remember discussion about an after market company that made extra length frame mounted firing pins that alleviated this problem.

Does anyone know who the company is and where I can order such firing pins?

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

The veribage on the web site even says it all...

".015", extra-length pin lets you use the lightest possible mainspring weight and still achieve consistent and reliable ignition."

I'll keep ya'll posted on how this project pans out! ;)

I just ordered the 2 extra length S&W firing pins from Midway USA for $10.99 @ which was $1.51 a piece cheaper than Brownells (shipping is also way cheaper at Midway too).

For those who may not know, regardless of frame size (J, K, L or N), the new frame mounted S&W firing pins are all the same size.

Midway's product code is #92136.
