I was at my long-time preferred LGS yesterday (a small shop) and he was on the phone with one of his key suppliers. When he got off the phone, he related the conversation. He said that he was told everything will start to get back to a "new normal" by the end of May... meaning predictable ammo ordering and shipments at non-outrageous prices. By "new normal", he said to expect retail prices for 9mm FMJ ammo to dip down and hold firm in the $16.00-$18.00 per box (of 50) range.

Interesting prediction. I'll believe it when I see it. :giggle:

I sure hope so. Can we please delete the "New" from New Normal(TM)? I am hoping we aren't truly in the Orwellian apocalypse.

Those were his words, not mine. :) And it makes sense when you know that he used to sell 9mm FMJ 124 Gr for $8.99/50 pre-crisis and even cheaper than that in bulk. That's his (and my) idea of "normal." ;) So what he is saying is that the "new normal" is going to be almost double his old price, but at least he thinks he is going to have popular ammo back in stock again. (y)

Still, $16.00-18.00/box is a whole lot better than what most of us are seeing right now. (y)

Yes, absolutely! I would love some sub $20 boxes of 9.

We'll know that things are more normal when reloading components and power reappear at reasonable prices. It will mean enough is available to all markets - both ammo manufacturing and consumer reloaders.

Nothing will seem normal until the socialists have been stuffed back under their collective rock.

As of this moment in time "Gunslinger Ammo" on line has PMC 9mm for $600 per case. I ordered PMC .380 from them recently and had no problems getting what I ordered. Their shipping is "fairly reasonable."

Considering that just now on ammoseek.com most of what is available is Wolf and Tula, I thought that was worth passing along.

You know its bad when you find boxes of .22 JHP at $4.99 ask the salesman if the price is correct, he says no but I have to honor that price.
So bought all 8 boxes, the FMJs where marked at 10 bucks.

Their selling tul 223 for same price I grabbed it for 2 months ago triple what it was a year ago but still better than brass by 300 bucks

I didn't ask. The local dealer I visited is not into reloading supplies.

But I'll tell you one thing: Even though I hate reloading, I'll be the first one in line to buy primers if they ever become available again at a price that makes sense (i.e., not more expensive than finished ammo!). The reason is simple. I don't trust Dementia Joe and the DimocRATS.
