Russ Smith Class A-engraved the 44 Magnum finished in bright blue and it was shipped in December 1956. The nickel 44 Magnum was Class A-engraved by Sigfried Rentzschke and it was shipped in October 1956. Engraved 5-screw 44 Magnums from 1956 are very rare and these are two of my best.

Bill,
Two exceptional guns!
Is there an engraver whose work is most-pleasing to you?

Don...I have revolvers engraved by Russ Smith, Sigfried Rentzschke, Alvin White, Harry Jarvis, Virginia LeBlanc, Paul Piquette, and Wayne D'Angelo (that I know of for sure ;) ). Each gun is a unique piece and has its own charm about it. A long answer to say no, I really don't have a true favorite.

I do think Alvin White's animal work is superior as the detail is quite stunning when examined closely.
