Hi F4, I just recently bought a basically new in box 469 and it has now become my carry gun. It is a great performer. Send me an e-mail and I'll try and get some pictures from my manual of the take-down procedure. Good luck with your 469, I'll find a picture of mine and post it in a minute, Shoo
Here we go.....

You can try it without the instructions from the manual if you'd like. Remove mag, push slide back until notch in slide (just below Wesson on the left side, see my pic) is lined up with rounded part of take-down lever. From right side, push take down lever pin out the left side. Grab the lever while holding the slide and you should be able to pull it all the way out. Now gently let the slide come forward and gently pull the slide off the front of the frame. Now you can remove the guide rod and spring and then remove the barrel, carry on......

Shoo pretty much describes the drill... some folks have difficulty determining the exact spot the slide needs to be in order to be able push/pull out the slide lock lever, here's what you're aiming for below.

Use caution while pulling out the lever and don't twist it up and down trying to loosen it while pulling it out, a protrusion on the underside of the lever that sticks through a hole in the frame that engages with the mag follower will easily put nasty scratches in the frame.

I find it easier myself to push on the end of lever pin from the right side of the frame to pop it loose and then pull it out, especially if it's tight.

Shooboy thanks for the info.Yours looks just like mine right down to the grips which I would like to replace if I can find some that are checkered for better grip. Thanks to the others for their info and pics.

It isn't too difficult... though it would be dead easy if you had three hands... ;)
