Yep, down here in the South, you find them all over the rural landscape; most have passed on to become nothing more than a bygone memory; but a few are still up and running. Bradley's near Tallahassee is still owned by the family who started it back in the 20s in the same building. The gas pump doesn't work, but they still make their stone ground grits and homemade sausage - has become almost like a tourist destination as folks will take a Sunday drive to buy some sausage and sit out on the porch in a rocking chair.
