Hey S&W,

Kinda odd? Was talking with Member Keith 44Spl on his thread, with some of his Excellent work, and here I was doing this at home.


Couple years back, bought this Combat Commander.

What the man told me, it was owned by a "Little Old Lady" and only shot on Sundays!

This fellow is a bit older than me, and the "Little Old Lady" is (was?) one of his contemporaries. She was an Avid Bowling Pin Shooter (back when surplus GI Ammo was cheap).

Sadly, her health is failing and she is confined to a Nursing Home. ( (Don't think I ever met her?)

Last week, sent the slide out to get cut for a Bo-Mar rear sight and a dovetail fiber optic front sight.

Well. Here are some pics.

Mayhaps some of you might care to guess what is going on?

With our "Job" shut down (due to Chinese Germ Warfare #19), this will be done as funding permits. Slide should be back in a couple weeks..

When I get all the parts...thinking of sending it out for either Electroless Nickel or Hard Chrome. ?? Outfit in Central PA only hits you $155. Pretty good deal, I think.

Can't blue over nickel. Can never get all the copper off (so I'm told).
